Thursday, September 22, 2016

So, here we are again with another birthday celebration that I've planned...I'm starting to feel like this blog is slowly just becoming a "Celebration Planning" blog. Well, this past weekend was my mama's 50th birthday. She has always mentioned wanting to having a luau. So, I took on the challenge of creating one for her!

These Are Not the Plants You Are Looking For...

Okay, maybe they are... Secret is out, y'all! I've decided to branch out (ha, pun intended) from my comfort zone-- I am officially adding these gorgeous succulent holders to my store.

I have been contemplating this for quite some time...

Where the Magic Happens

Tuesday, August 16, 2016

When I first began Terra Heritage, the majority of my work was done out of a cramped corner of my bedroom. I had clothes scattered around, adorable cats knocking my paint tins over, and overall it was just cluttered. While I am definitely not an overly neat person-- working in this cramped environment would stress me out on a daily basis.

So, I decided that I needed a place where I could work without distractions. I wanted a my own space that would reflect my personal style, while still not making too much of a dent in my bank account.

Thus began my penny pinching adventure of turning our "storage room" into my office.

Birthday Extravaganza!

Monday, August 15, 2016

This past Sunday was my boyfriend's birthday! He is a huge fan of all things nerd-- especially TV shows. To name a few: Archer, Dragon Ball Z, Bob's Burgers, The Office..you get the picture.

So, I put together a fun little surprise for him. This is a good idea for those of you who have kids who watch and enjoy Dragon Ball Z, or you know, if you are the kind of adults that we are.

Creating A Plan For Your Etsy Store

Friday, August 5, 2016

Let's start this off by clarifying that I am, by no means, an Etsy guru. I had absolutely no idea how to plan out my Etsy store. But I have learned quite a lot, and feel my experience could be of value to somebody out there. It's seem like a simple process, but in actuality, it is quite complex. There are so many small details that you can overlook in the planning process and to be honest, there are quite a few things I would have done differently. But, as I said, it is all a learning process. I've been planning my store out for months and I am just at the tip of the Etsy iceberg.

But don't let that discourage you! Here are some things to consider for your store:

Terra Heritage: The Beginning

Why start a business when you have no idea of how to run a business?

I have this fear of mediocrity, and with that came a seemingly endless list of aspirations. These 'career' ideas would range from IT development, to marketing management, to various medical careers. But none of these occupations seemed to call to me.
